American Heart Association
Heart Disease is the world's number 1 killer along with strokes being the number five world killer. They both claim a life every 40 seconds. Every year we raise money for the American Heart Association to fight against the world's number one and number five killers, We do this by hosting our annual events called Theta Phi Cutie Pie and the Red Dress Party. We also participate in the Heart Walk as well.
Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Foundation
The goal of the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Foundation is to provide free mammogram screenings and further breast care treatment for those who cannot personally afford to do so. Lisa Boccard herself is a woman who has metastatic breast cancer and knows that feeling all too well when she found out she had cancer which is what drove her to begin the foundation. We raise money every year by hosting two events. One is Batting out Breast Cancer where organizations come out to play baseball and raise awareness about Breast Cancer. The second event is Tea for Tatas where Lisa Boccard herself comes to this luncheon and makes a speech. This was started in inspiration for a sister's mother who passed away from Breast Cancer. We hold both Tea for Tatas and Batting out Breast Cancer very close to our hearts for some of our sisters have been personally effected by it.
